For a while, P.P.Doctorjee accompanied his friends Dr. Moonje and Dr. Cholkar
in the rifle club. In a hunting trip, they decided to hold sharp shooting contest.
An eggplant (brinjal) was placed on a tall tree in the middle of a clearing
in the forest, and each contestant attempted to shoot at it. All shooters
failed to touch it, in spite of repeated shots. P.P.Doctorjee shot it down
with a single, accurate shot.
In the early days, Swayamsevaks were taught rifle shooting. Senior Sangha
Adhikaries and younger Swayamsevaks used to have friendly competitions in
shooting. P.P.Doctorjee naturally participated in the competition in the
senior citizen’s group. Year after year, he never failed to hit the “Bull’s
eye” on all four targets provided, in single shots.
This even is a testament to P.P.Doctorjee’s tremendous abilities in
concentrating on his goal.
