147. P.P.Doctorjee did not hesitate to take bold steps:

One day, P.P.Doctorjee came upon a large, free area in the center of Nagpur city. Instantly, it occurred to him that such a convenient, quiet centrally positioned location could be just the ideal spot to have the Sangha Karyaalaya (Sangha office). To consider buying it, P.P.Doctorjee invited a few wealthy friends, for a “sit-down and brainstorm” session.

Some among the invitees were a bit less sanguine. They said: “We all know for starters, that the British regime has Sangha on its hit list. If we spent the money and built a nice Karyaalaya building in this spot, it might just trigger the forcible acquisition of that building by the regime. Then, all our efforts and our money would be totally wasted.”

P.P.Doctorjee quipped: “How strange it feels to hear such defeatist words! Foreigners have gobbled up our entire nation, but we are not worried about that. But we get worried sick about a possible confiscation of a single building!”
