One day, a bicycle
tourist, who could perform many entertaining tricks and acrobatics on his
bicycle, arrived at P.P.Doctorjee’s home in Nagpur. He began to insist that Sangha
should host a program of his acrobatics. P.P.Doctorjee said that this was not
possible.
“What good is it to have a Sangha then?” asked the irate bicyclist.
P.P.Doctorjee replied sharply: “Sangha has its own aims and objectives. They
do not necessarily include hosting a bicycle acrobat or an ‘Ox-cart’ acrobat.
All of those who were listening, broke into laughter. It was so light-hearted
and infectious, that even the bicyclist joined in!
