In 1932, the then
Central Provinces, government released a circular, prohibiting all of its
employees from joining RSS. The legislators began to question the ban. As an
answer, the minister-in-charge for Home Affairs (one of the very few
positions given to an Indian), one Mr. E. Raghavendra Rao, stated that the
Government had acted in response to objectionable content of P.P.Doctorjee’s
speeches. When pressed to be more specific, he said that P.P.Doctorjee’s
speeches praised Hitler and Mussolini.
When P.P.Doctorjee heard about this, he instantly knew that this was totally
false. He therefore requested some legislators to ask the minister (Mr. Rao)
to produce the copies of the speeches, which had the objectionable
references. The CID had meticulously recorded every word; they went through
their records over and over again. Needless to say, they could find nothing.
[The minister had to apologize and withdraw the circular].
P.P.Doctorjee always concentrated on the building of Samskaaras in
swayamsevaks. His “Bouddhik”s were
all focused on Bharat and Bharateeyas. Small wonder then that false accusers
like Mr. E. Raghavendra Rao failed.
