Given his wrestler's
physique and military discipline, many people thought that P.P.Doctorjee must
be hating music. An incident at Sangha camp in Nagpur dispelled this
misconception once for all.
A Bengali swayamsevak in
this camp sang a patriotic Bengali song "Omar Matru Bhoomi" (our
Motherland) in a wonderful, melodious voice. One day, suddenly, P.P.Doctorjee,
summoned him to his room. That boy was afraid; he thought that P.P.Doctorjee
was about to discipline him for his pranks.
Doctorjee said:
"Please have a seat, and will you please sing that wonderful song for
me?" The swayamsevak sat down and began to sing. P.P.Doctorjee closed his
eyes. Profuse tears rolled down from his eyes onto his cheeks. All those who
were present watched in stunned silence. It was a tearful homage of a patriotic
son to his Motherland!
