At one point in time, Sangha work
was in dire troubles due to shortage of funds.  To raise money, P.P.Doctorjee called together a meeting of some
well-heeled Nagpur citizens. Lots of ideas came forward. All felt that Sangha
should be registered with the Government. This would create credibility, and
donations would flow in.              P.P.Doctorjee said:  “How absurd this idea is! Here we are
trying to re-build a new Bharat; to free it from the yoke of an oppressive
  foreign (British) regime.  Let our
society needs be registered with such a regime to survive!! If our own
brothers and sisters don’t trust us, let us gain their trust by our dedicated
social service. Why do we need the absurd prop of registering ourselves with
  the Government?” |
