111. P.P.Doctorjee covered up for his fellow-workers’ slips:

In a big hurry to travel to Pune, I forgot one of our bags in the train.  The bag contained my “long boots”  (an item of Sangha uniform in those days). Fearing that P.P.Doctorjee might be upset if he came to know, I never told him about this.

However, somehow P.P.Doctorjee came to know.  Instead of chastising me for my forgetfulness, he just made a joke out of it, saying, “Well we forgot the boots on our way to Pune.  The people there are well-known for giving outsiders the boot!” Everyone laughed and the tension was off.

Later, P.P.Doctorjee himself assumed the responsibility to count the baggage – which was traditionally mine as a young boy.  But P.P.Doctorjee had a real dignity of labor. He never hesitated in doing the most menial of tasks.
