101. Doctorjee visited a Shakha...

    One day, P.P.Doctorjee visited a “Shakha” in a village. After the Shakha, he had detailed confidential discussions with the local workers, about who should be named as the principal responsibility holders for the Shakha. All of them agreed on some names. Then P.P.Doctorjee himself declared those people publicly to be the responsibility bearers. The function concluded and all went home happily.

That night, it occurred to P.P.Doctorjee that the local Sangha Chalak (the highest local bearer of responsibility) should have been the one, to declare the list of other bearers of responsibility. Instead of following this well-established protocol, P.P.Doctorjee had done it himself! Since everyone involved had the highest regard for P.P.Doctorjee, and all the names had been agreed upon beforehand, the breach of protocol of who should have declared them, was really a very minor matter. But it caused a big emotional storm in P.P.Doctorjee’s mind. It made him restless; he could not sleep even though it was then past midnight.

Unable to contain his own emotions, P.P.Doctorjee got up, and headed straightway to the home of the Sangha Chalak. That gentleman was shocked to see P.P.Doctorjee at his doorstep at such an ungodly hour. He was stunned speechless when P.P.Doctorjee explained to him as to why he had come and profoundly apologized to him.

Only after confessing to his mistake and getting the assurance that he had been forgiven, P.P.Doctorjee could return home and fall asleep!
