61. Doctorjee's Ties to The International Revolutionary Freedom Fighters:

One late evening, I stayed for a Sangha Baithak at Doctorjee's home, which ended at about 11:00 PM.

Once, a late evening Sangha Baithak at Doctorjee's home ended at 11:30 PM, and I decided to spend the night there. After taking care of all sleeping arrangements, Doctorjee said "good night" to me and went to his room. It had been a long exhausting day for all of us and I fell asleep very quickly.

However, I can't sleep well in a new place, and I woke up at about 3:00 AM. To my amazement Doctorjee's table lamp was on, and he was busily writing something. It was obvious that he had not gone to bed at all.

Normally, Doctorjee preferred to have all his letters including Sangha - related correspondence, written by others. He would just give them an idea about what was to be written, and then he would review and sign the written material. Even, the daily newspapers were read to him by others and he would give only an occasional comment. So, it was rare and amazing to see him writing something. Knowing his habits, my curiously took over me, and I walked over to his room, knocked on the open door and said: "What is this, Doctorjee - what book are you writing at such an ungodly hour?"

Doctorjee immediately closed up the papers he was writing on, locked them into a box, turned a smiling face to me and said: "Nothing. Please don't say anything to anyone about what you just saw, ok?" He then lay down on his bed in the room and asked me to go back to my room to sleep.

It was heavily rumored that Doctorjee was secretly in touch with his associates from his earlier days as a Revolutionary Freedom Fighter; they were in Bharat as well as abroad. It was an open secret, even though he had left his Revolutionary life. Doctorjee never forsook his Revolutionary associates  and he helped them to the best of his abilities, of course, there was no proof of anything.
